What’s Inside of Social Skills Challenges?

We think that it’s time that parents ask what’s inside of social skills challenges.  Up to 75% of children with learning disabilities also have some challenges with social skills, so many parents and children are dealing with social skills every day.

We now know that all aspects of social skills can be taught, so if we understand where our children’s challenges lie, we can help support them better.  Speech-language pathologists can teach social skills classes to young children, and can help children develop social pragmatics skills.

If your child has been diagnosed with social skills challenges, you can use this list to determine what their biggest challenges are.  As you find activities, classes, or even books, you can use your energy on the biggest challenges.
